Had some great news this week as our comic ‘One More Year’ appears in 3 separate categories for the Selkie Awards - Best Short Comic, Best Art and Best Narrative!

The Selkie Comic Awards aim to promote Scotland’s thriving independent and small-press comics scene. Inspired by the SICBA Comic Book Awards, which ran from 2011-2019, the award aims to recognise talent from across Scotland, including those who have limited access to in-person comic events.

In ‘One More Year’, Ophelia receives a yearly visit from the mysterious Jacob, who asks her questions followed by a lucrative proposal from his boss - $5M for her soul - but every year, Ophelia declines.

This year, however, she has a proposal of her own, one that involves Jacob and a history he cannot even begin to imagine...

One More Year is a 52-page, full colour, supernatural mystery comic written by Simon Birks, illustrated by Pietro, and lettered by Rob Jones.

It’s not a public vote, but there is an online awards ceremony you can sign up for which takes place on December 5th.

Darja sent through the sketches for the next issue of Cool Air, and as I know it’s a popular title, I wanted to share a couple of them with you.

The Hob’s Lane graphic novel Kickstarter ends tomorrow. It collects all three issues from the story by Martin Hayes, with art by RHStewart, and letters by Paul Mclaren.

This is the second title in the Blue Fox Fall 2025 season! All the books can be seen in the image below, and are available (in physical format only) as a special reward in each of the individual Kickstarter’s, with a 10% discount to help with those pesky tariffs!

It’s another short campaign, running for 10 days, with all the usual early-bird rewards.

We’ve got two conventions later in October, but both happening at the same time. I’ll be at MCM London (24th to 26th October) at the Excel Centre and Marielle will be at TAGS Fest (25th to 26th October) in Edinburgh!

We haven’t been sent a table number yet for MCM, but for TAGS Fest, we’re at Table 10 in the Market - map below.
