TOP COW PRODUCTIONS AND IMAGE COMICS ANNOUNCE SIMON BIRKS’ NEW SERIES — THE THING ON THE DOORSTEP
That’s the title of the press release sent out this week! It’s been a couple of years of work, and waiting for the right moment, but the time is now, as they say!

LOS ANGELES, CA — November 20, 2025 — Top Cow Productions, Inc., in partnership with Image Comics, is proud to announce the upcoming release of The Thing on the Doorstep #1 (of 5), a chilling new series from award-winning writer Simon Birks (ANTARCTICA, One More Year, The Shadow Over Innsmouth) and acclaimed artist Willi Roberts (ANTARCTICA, The Dark, The Blood Below), with lettering by Rob Jones (Hitomi, Skulduggery Pleasant).
Based on H.P. Lovecraft’s terrifying story, The Thing on the Doorstep takes readers deep into a haunting mystery of friendship, madness, and the horrifying unknown.
Daniel Upton and Edward Derby have been best friends almost their entire lives—until the day Daniel shoots Edward dead in the Arkham Sanitorium. Daniel insists he’s innocent despite all evidence pointing to him. Find out the truth, and witness the beginning of a doomed relationship and Edward’s slow descent into a horrifying world beyond his control in this new series.

The Thing on the Doorstep #1 (of 5) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on February 11, 2026.

Whereas Blue Fox published the adaptation in three parts, the Top Cow/Image comic will be published in 5 issues, with brand new variant covers (and mostly brand new main covers), from February to June 2026.
Willi has updated the artwork for this release, and they’ll be extensive back matter for each issue.
